TC-TAT strives to build the capacity and advance the collective efforts of VAW prevention practitioners through the provision of technical assistance, training, and resources.
TC-TAT's learning center model is based on three interrelated and mutually supporting program strategies:
- Build Local Capacity and Leadership
- Collaborate to Inform and Strengthen the Movement
- Deepen and Sustain Our Impact
As a learning center, TC-TAT’s strategies are designed to accommodate diverse organizational prevention readiness levels and community contexts. Our program strategies and services are described below:
Prevention Trainings
TC-TAT’s prevention trainings and workshops are grounded in both social movement theory and direct application learning. TC-TAT offers opportunities for practitioners to engage in peer learning and practice the application of tools, including the development of prevention action plans, for their local communities. Topics are differentiated to meet participants at various skill levels and community contexts.
Ongoing Technical Assistance
TC-TAT recognizes that much of the critical prevention work occurs when practitioners return to their communities. TC-TAT offers extensive hands-on, post-workshop technical assistance to assist practitioners with the integration and implementation of prevention strategies into their organizations and communities.
To enhance peer learning opportunities across geographic boundaries, TC-TAT fosters virtual communities of practice - an online peer learning community to promote dialogue, shared support, and information exchange.
TC-TAT Resource Center
Practitioners have access to and can obtain the latest prevention products, toolkits, publications, and reports to support their prevention activities. TC-TAT distributes and/or sells various project materials and curricula through our online Resource Center.
