Sixty-seven specific policy and practice recommendations for improving community, social service system and court system responses to overlapping issues of child abuse and domestic violence are detailed and explained in this landmark public policy guide. Often referred to as "The Green Book" (a reference to the book's green cover), the publication was created and distributed by the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. The book's policy recommendations focus on fostering reasonable collaboration and clear lines of responsibility among the various public and non-profit community groups that have a stake in ending abuse and violence in families. Collectively, the recommendations contain a wealth of practical experience and provide a framework for implementing systematic changes in the ways the courts and social service providers deal with family violence cases.

Recommended for domestic violence advocates, judges and court system personnel, children's protective service programs, and other social service providers working to improve or better coordinate the community's response to family violence.
