Media Advocacy
Technical Assistance and Training
A
project of the California Department of Health Services, Maternal
and Child Health Branch,
Domestic Violence Section, Statewide Technical Assistance
and Training Project.
The Department
of Health Services, Maternal and Child Health Branch (MCH),
Domestic Violence Section has recently funded a new group
of contractors (along with their subcontractor partners) to
provide technical assistance and training, in relation to
specific component (or specialty) areas. TC-TAT received contracts
to carry out two of the components -- Prevention and Media
Advocacy. Together, the nine Statewide Technical Assistance
and Training (STAT) projects will support MCH-funded agencies
over the next three years. In the near future, you can find
more in-depth coverage of the STAT projects and their available
print and Internet resources on the SafeNetwork website, www.safenetwork.net.

The Transforming Communities Training Curriculum builds on the
successful strategies carried out in TC projects and incorporates
research from the violence prevention and social movement fields.
