The
Marin Countywide Community Action Team (CAT)
is a small committed group of activists that educates and organizes
the community to end violence against women and children.
We do this through:
- public
awareness campaigns and campaigns to achieve policy changes
- letter-writing
campaigns to advertisers, legislators, newspaper editors
- information
tables at various public events and shopping centers
- presentations
to community groups and businesses about domestic violence
- working
with religious congregations
- book
club discussion groups
- film
showings followed by discussion
- distributing
our bathroom stall stickers with hotline numbers and the message,
"There's NO Excuse for Abuse"
- marches,
rallies, public forums.
This
CAT, facilitated by the Community Policing Project of Marin
Abused Women's Services and supported through Transforming
Communities, plans and carries out whatever activities the group
agrees to do. We have a supportive team approach that values each
member's ideas and skills. We always welcome new team members,
so check us out. To contact us, click
here, or come to one of our upcoming events, listed on
the calendar page.
