Rape Prevention Action Kit
"This is not an invitation to rape me."

"Rape prevention is about changing attitudes and behavior. No matter what you choose to do, do something. Together we can end sexual violence."

Distributed as part of a multi-media sexual assault awareness campaign, "This is Not an Invitation to Rape Me," launched by the Los Angeles Commission on Assaults Against Women (LACAAW), this action kit combines practical tools and provocative ad messages and images designed to challenge and reframe people's attitudes and beliefs about rape. The kit includes California penal code definitions of rape, an insert on "Misconceptions about Rape and Sexual Assault," a checklist of "15 Ways You Can Begin to Stop Rape Today," a "Commitment to Ending Sexual Violence" action quiz, an anti-rape postcard, a self-defense bookmark, and a set of "This Is Not an Invitation to Rape Me" stickers, all neatly packaged in a compact 5 x 8 inch format. The kit includes a number of ideas and suggestions for how to use the rape prevention resource materials to educate oneself and other people. Information about the campaign's originator and order forms for obtaining additional campaign materials are also included. Materials are suitable for use throughout the U.S., not just in the Los Angeles area.

Recommended for individuals and organizations committed to preventing sexual assaults against women and girls.
