This guide offers
detailed descriptions of 36 sets of training materials designed
to educate health care providers about methods of screening and
intervening in cases of domestic violence and sexual assault. Materials
included in the guide are predominantly practical tools--videos,
scripted slide lectures, training manuals, and information packets--that
were obtained from medical and nursing schools, emergency departments,
national resource centers and other agencies throughout the U.S.
and Canada. Materials have been pre-screened for relevance and usefulness.
Detailed information about the programs that created the materials
and how the materials can be purchased or obtained are included
with product descriptions. The guide also includes an overview of
key elements that need to be included in training health professionals
about sexual assault and domestic violence, an index and quick reference
guide to the training materials described, a bibliography and a
resource list.
